THE MAKING OF A FACE BRAND
Modelling for many is an expression of certain beautiful body extensions that an individual is comfortable with. To another it is a show of self and demonstration of glamour all to portray body obsession; while another sees it as an art in itself. It can then be deduced that the practice of modelling means different things to different people.
KOFO MARTINS popularly called Queen K is an absolute face/commercial model who understands the rationale behind her craft. She is studying mass Communication in the prestigious University of Lagos with interest in media. Queen K was born into a metropolitan family, luckily having a mother who is a cosmetologist and fashion enthusiast.
As a little girl Kofo enjoyed to dance and sing for recess; she would choreograph along with other kids on TV when watching children’s program. She was known to smile at everything and anything and her charm was infectious, such that everyone that comes in contact with her enjoys the energy she exudes. At age 4 Caleb International School selected her as the face of the institution that she featured in their every advertorial engagements both above-the-line and below-the-line. She also featured as the child face of Caleb’s notebook for half a decade, becoming the longest serving kid to be used.
After her first school leaving certificate she featured in some private commercial as a young teenager and her unique selling proposition again was her smile that comes natural. She has also featured in many dailies as Kid model under fashion and beauty editorial, teaching her peers dance and posing stance as lead instructor, among which is modelling for Denibum Fashion Consult a major fashion consulting firm in Nigeria, as seen in the print editorial in the picture below.
She well defines a premium brand as proven by her early start and continuity without despising behavioral decorum that is expected of a brand representative.
Kofo started out as a child model and maintain a balance between modelling and school engagements. Despite limited opportunities available for prospects like her to thrive, she yet carve her niche by avoiding works that are demeaning and opposing to her values and standards, which is why she has a working structure as against being open for anyhow jobs. She is a brand ambassador for Crystal Reggy Communications and was awarded the best model of the year 2018.
She understands marketing in relation to business development, which is her professional career-an advantage for any brand, because she will be able to reflect the identity of the brand in her daily operation.
