LG polls: Ikono APC councilorship aspirant declares, adopted sole candidate 

A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikono ward 2, Mr Seowoama Kelvin Okoruen, has been adopted as the sole councillorship candidate for APC in the ward as the party prepares the forthcoming council elections in the state.

In an enlarged gathering of chieftains of the party and other party faithful in the ward on Sunday September 10, Okoruen declared his intention to run, promising to give the ward meritorious representation if elected in December. 


At the massive gathering in the compound of the chairman of APC Ward 2, Akparawa Prince Solomon Etefia, Okoruen, a native of Mbioku Ikot Odung, was adopted overwhelmingly by the party loyalists. 

Among other promises, Okoruen promised to hold ward briefings quartely as well as empower one person per village if elected. The ward has 8 villages. 

Among those at the consultation were the former Leader of the Ikono Legislature, (Hon) Iboro Akpan Udoudo, APC chairmanship aspirant, Mr Udeme Sunday Obot and the Chapter Chairman of the party, Elder Ubong Iyang.

Mr Obot expressed his appreciation for the corporation amongst APC members in Ikono while thanking Mr Etefia for his focused leadership in Ikono APC ward 2. He used the opportunity to seek for the support of the members during the polls.

Also expressing his appreciation was the chapter chairman of the party, Elder Inyang who thanked the members for coming out in their large numbers to give support to the aspirant.
