A native of Ikot Ubo Akama in Edemaya clan of Ikot Abasilocal government area, distinguished alumnus of the prestigious Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States of America, astute businessman and President/CEO of E-GLAM Pharmacy, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania , the story of Prince Inyang Inyang in full or perspectives speaks volumes. Not only has he labored and achieved success, but has also ensured that his success flows like living water to others. That is, Prince Inyang’s liberal and humane outlook on the problems of his people and the courage and ability to do something about them assures a better society. This attribute is what has earned him the tag of a passionate philanthropist. And unlike many who bask in whatever success thy have recorded, Prince Inyang credits such an honour to God Himself, in both words and deeds. So after exploring the different areas of his endeavor, Inyang returns to sow seeds of comfort to the less privilege in his immediate and neighboring communities. A few examples will suffice here: Under his sponsorship, as there are many reasons Prince Inyang is styled a passionate philanthropist, many students of Ikot Abasi have been offered scholarships worth millions of naira under the Inyang Inyang Education Endowment Scholarship Scheme.

The yearly scholarship programme which is divided into to categories covers beneficiaries who are undertaking various academic programmes in the country’s higher institutions, while the second part is designed to cater for youths engaged in different vocational training. This include start up packs to enable the beneficiary begin his or her business on completion of the training. While congratulating beneficiaries during one of the scholarship presentation ceremonies held at the St. Anthony’s Primary School ground, Ikot Ubo Akama in September, 2013, Prince Inyang had reminded the students to follow in the footsteps of their predecessors who have passed through the programme and have earned well deserved recognition and acclaim. He had explained that, “We must always consider that we should be a shining city upon a hill. The eye of all people are upon us and each of us have obligation to keep this light alive. Today the eye of the people are truly upon us and our government at all levels must be as a city upon a hill constructed and inhabited by men and women who are aware of their great trust and responsibilities like you”

To further foster unity, love and better relations among youths within Ikot Abasi and neighboring communities, Prince Inyang in April, 2014, organized and sponsored a competitive but friendly football tournament where nine teams, drawn from each clan of Ikot Abasi and Mkpat Enin local government areas, participated. The actions, goals and electrifying moments of the competition ended on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at ALSCON mini stadium in Ikot Abasi, with the team from Ukpum Minya clan of Mkpat Enin winning the trophy after defeating the team from Edemaya clan of IkotAbasi.

Aside from cash prizes given to the winner and runners up, Prince Inyang also used the occasion to confer merit awards on some distinguished sons and daughters of Akwa Ibom state who are shining lights in their different areas of calling. They include the Chairman of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) University of Uyo Branch, Dr. Aniekan Brown; Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Akwa Ibom State Council, Elder Patrick Albert; former international president of Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio, Elder NseUbeh; former house of representatives member, Hon. Akpan Micah Umoh, former house of Assembly member and now commissioner in the state, Barr. Ekong Sampson and the current Speaker of the AkwaIbom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Onofiok Luke, just mention a few. Indeed, Prince Inyang, a doting husband and father, is a splendid man of great intellect and big heart. This is how one of the top officials of PIFO, Mr. Linus Sylvester Ndah, describes Prince Inyang: “He is a man of superlatively high standards, complete integrity and boundless enthusiasm for whatever task he takes in hand”. Not only that, youths who were beneficiaries of the 2015 batch of the Inyang’s scholarship scheme affirmed that no one whose privilege it is to known Prince Inyang is likely to forget the candor of his speech, the courage of his faith and the warm and glowing brightness of his friendship.

There is no doubt that this is one life that has succeeded in impacting crowds of other ones, leaving far-reaching developments in the society. It is for this reason that there is a rallying call for wide applause and participation as the second edition of the Prince Inyang’s football tourney Kicks off in Ikot Abasi. Beginning from 10th to 31stJanuary, 2016, teams from Ikot Abasi, Mkpat Enin and Easten Obolo, the three local government areas making up Ikot Abasi federal constituency will again compete for glory in the championship slated to hold at Ikot Abasilocal government secretariat field. The forth coming competition provides one with an opportunity to extend warmest congratulations to the Prince Inyang Inyang Foundation and its membership on its impressive accomplishments. It is equally hoped that, no matter what the future holds for the foundation, God Almighty will always shower upon Prince Inyang His choicest blessings.
